A couple of you know about my recent obsession with the TV drama The West Wing. For those of you who don't know, I have recently become obsessed with the TV drama The West Wing.

And I think you should check it out.

LOL when you said that, in my mind, I had The West Wing mixed up with JAG. I didn't really take you for a JAG person.

Whenever I think of JAG, I think of watching that and Xena: Warrior Princess with my grandmother in her bedroom while she painted our nails and let me play with her jewelry. I was rather young and really only noticed the pretty people, but watching the syndications has proven how awful those shows were. . .

The West Wing, though, is a different story. :)

Is West Wing the one about the president that seems to occasionally predict the future?

Hmm . . . The future in the show or the future in real life? I do know that they base the show around ideas that have happened or are happening in politics. The events aren't exactly the same, but they're supposed to reflect a similar reaction to what would/has happen(ed) in real life. Examples: The President's MS diagnosis is kept hidden from the public, and that's supposed to be compared to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. After the 9/11 attacks, a special show was written to show the fictional administration dealing with terrorism. Characters are modeled off real people, especially the crazy ones.

In other words, I haven't seen past season 2, but so far, no prophecies.

IIRC, the 9/11 episode of that show holds two records: the first live-action television show ep about those events, and the shortest from inception to airing. Wasn't it like 2 weeks?

I think it also got at least a nomination for some award.

The filming for that episode was started 10 days after the attacks, aired on October 3rd. Yeah, and the show has won, like 25 of the most prestigious annual awards throughout it's seven seasons. But no big deal.

Also, thanks, Wikipedia.

Wasn't Stockard Channing on that show. I like Stockard Channing, but only because she played Rizzo in Grease.

She's the First Lady. And a feisty one, at that.
